Students continue practice for the Secondary Periodic Assessment-Literary Analysis by completing sample multiple choice items, identifying not only correct answers but justifying two or more skills necessary to successfully complete each item, including discussion of stems and answer choices.

To Kill A Mockingbird
Chapters Sixteen-Twenty talking points are due in class on Friday for class discussion. Class discussion continues for both classes on Monday.

Jury duty research paper is assigned this week; students access OWL (Online Writing Lab) online to ascertain formatting and style requirements.

Holt Grammar and English Workshop continues in class and as homework.

Students complete Unit Ten-Twelve test in class on Monday. Unit Thirteen is due on Thursday with test scheduled for Friday.

Holt Grammar and English Workshop assignments will be scheduled in class and as homework this week.

Literary Analysis-Secondary Periodic Assessment multiple choice practice continues in class; essay that was originally scheduled is postponed.

To Kill A Mockingbird Chapters Six-Ten talking points (five per chapter) were due on Friday; class discussion for these chapters is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Chapters Eleven-Fifteen talking points are due on Friday. Research paper on jury duty will be scheduled when students have reached the trial portion of the novel.

"Through the Tunnel" by Doris Lessing is scheduled in class this week. Students will also access literature from the multicultural text to further prepare for the upcoming Secondary Periodic Assessment-Literary Analysis.

Literary Analysis-Secondary Periodic Assessment multiple choice practice continues in class; essay will be completed on gomyaccess.com and is due April 26.

To Kill A Mockingbird Chapters Six-Ten talking points (five per chapter) are due on Friday for class discussion.

Nonfiction selections from anthology will be completed in class.

Poetry unit wraps up this week with further in-class work on both the Langston Hughes and E.E. Cummings poems.
